Hi! Im doing a "Let´s Play" of this game on YouTube

I'm making a point of posting in all aar/let's play posts because we NEED MORE!

I noticed that the music was a bit tinny though (presumably because it's getting recorded second hand via the mic?). I don't know much about recording gameplay videos, but isn't there some way to record the in game sounds directly to the video?

Also, this may just be because I've played the game already, but you seem to take a little too long explaining each and every detail.

Feedback makes me better at making LP.

First off.

The sound:

Im recording the sound and speech right from the sound card, not thru the mic (well my speech is coming from a mic).

So it´s straight forward an in game settings thing.

The reason its so low, is that i got feedback from some pro LP makers that i ask´t to take a look, that it was to high.

Second.

The slow pace:

Well the first 9 videos i try to show as much of the interface and pages as i can, just to get that out of the way.

In the last 6 videos i try to speed things up and explain as i go.

Im new to the world of LP´s so im still trying to get a hang for it.

People that have played the game should start watching from episode 10, witch is what most are doing.

Please keep the feedback coming as the better i make the LP´s, the more people we can get to play the game.

In the first video i have now put in a disclaimer that people that have played the game should go to video 10.

Interesting, even if there's a bit much 'ehm...' and elaboration at times. It did tempt me to make one myself, but that's probably (not certainly) not going to happen.

You should just play the game, have fun, and comment on what you are doing and such.
Let's Plays arent really supposed to be tutorials about the mouse cursor changing to a wand

I think the key (to victory?? haha) is to treat your viewers as if you already expect them to be intelligent enough to understand most of what you show, not as if they were soccer moms who never played anything but dr mario before

I think you should rather make a "let's not play and wait for (at least) patch 1.1". With the current bugs (like shards not working) it doesn't make much sense to play it now.

I've watched your first 9 videos, and will most likely finish the others today, and I have only 1 real thing to say... As much as I've enjoyed watching them, I was hoping for a more traditional "Let's Play..." series, where the player was familiar with the game, it's mechanics, and the different aspects of it; such as technologies, research, buildings, etc.  Most of the time, as I was watching, I was getting the impression it was the first time you yourself were seeing some of the things that popped up or occurred.

I hope that doesn't sound ungrateful, I appreciate the video series, and have learned some things.  But there were times that I was wondering why you did some of the things you did, why you chose certain paths,

Hopefully you'll do more once you experience it a bit more, or other generous players will post some of their wn videos.  I learned how to play Civ4 by watching different "Let's Play..." videos, and I find them extremely beneficial to watch and listen too.  Thanks for your efforts, and keep it up.

couldnt be further from the truth mate... and this is coming from an old, jaded gamer, who hasnt donned rose-tinted glasses for any developer in quite some time...

EWoM is an absolute blast... then again, thats just one man's opinion...

Well i understand your point and with the new patch coming soon that will change it all again, that would be one way to do it.

What im thinking is that now people get to follow the game from the way it was to the way it will be in the future.

I hope that it will show people how much support, love and work they put into this game, at the same time as i show how fun it was and still will be.

Yes it WAS the first time i was seeing most of the things and that will probably get more common as i get deeper in the game.

Yes i get that you did not know what i was doing some times, i need to speak what im thinking, so the one watching can follow in my train of thought.

TENGILL, You said its an RTS meets RPG...

RTS = REAL Time Strategy  (Think Warcraft 1,2,3 or Command & Conquer, or Starcraft or any of the many many RTS games that do not have segmented turns.

TBS = Turn Based Strategy (Think MOO, MOM, AoW and even the campaign map of the Total War Series.)

So it's more of a TBS meets RPG...  Nice Effort Keep it up practice less Ahh's and umm's , Silence would be better than non-word fillers.  Trust me every public speaker gets this feedback

Hi all.

Well i just wanted to give a update.

I have uploaded 6 more videos to my page, making it a total of 23 videos, with a total run time of 5h and 30:ish min.

I dont think i will be able to play and record more befor the patch, as im starting my work week to night.

This means that the next upload, will most likly be of 1.08 gamplay.

Depending on the changes, i might start a new game, but i will have to wait and see.
