Refund Policy?

So what exactly is the refund policy of SD?

I'm considering getting this game, but honestly, if it doesn't work on my PC (i.e. regular CTD, or if multiplayer is never enabled), then I want my money back.  Not 75% of it.  All of it.  I can't see how this is unreasonable, or out of line with any other product I would purchase.

However, on the forums I've seen 3 different claims:

1) Only 75% of money is refunded

2) 75% of money is refunded unless debug / dignostics are provided, in which case 100% is refunded

3) 100% is refunded (apparently a quote from Brad, but it's second-hand and I can't find the original quote).

I have a Win7 64 bit ATI machine, which as far as I can tell is the worst of all worlds.  What I can't tell is whether / how well it will work on my machine, and I'm not willing to throw away $50 for something I can't play....

We do not give refunds on beta or pre-release versions of software or subscription renewals. Refunds are only available for fully-released programs.

So, sorry, think you are out of luck.

That has nothing to do with Elemental which is a fully released product.

There is no need to be a pr##k. That is also very vague.

The relevant part of the refund policy is as follows:

"For Stardock Products Only - Please review the minimum system requirements for our software carefully. If you request a refund and your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements, you will receive a partial refund of 75%.

If you are not willing to work with technical support on any problems you are having, or request a refund even if you are not having problems using the software, we will issue a partial refund of 75%. To receive a partial refund, please email [email protected]."

So:

If you PC can't run the product because you forgot to check minimum requirements, it's 75%.
If you don't want to cooperate with tech support to get it working, or just didn't like the game, it's 75%.
Otherwise it's 100%.

This seems straightforward enough. I guess, with all the various claims out there, the actual policy should be on the forum.

I've personally got a refund at 100% with no problem, but Elemental wasn't the problem. (Elemental seems better to hold on to, IMHO.).

This isn't the place for an argument. As the OP has been directed to the refund policy and had his question answered. I'm going to close the thread. If you have any further questions on the subject, please contact [email protected].
