I don't understand caravans
Sometimes I can only build 1 per city. Sometimes I can build 1 more than that. Why is that?
P.S. What's the formula for what caravans produce?
Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, June 29th and we will be returning on Monday, July 6th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time but expect delays in responses during this time.

That's sort of what I was hinting at without trying to raise a holy stink about potential bugs as seems to be so popular these days...
Remember that caravans provide a percentage based bonus. If the city is not producing any food to begin with, a caravan won't help. Also remember that food is a global resource; as long as the sum total of all your cities is positive, you're fine. It doesn't matter if one city is producing -10 and another +10.
Playing as kingdom i also run into more than 1 caravan issue. Strangely only some of my cities can suddenly produce 2 or even 3 caravans while the other are restricted to 1 and it were not the biggest cities.
I also run into a bug that after reloading the game which completely let caravans vanish. I can't rebuild them and they are not under way just totally vanished. (patch 1.07)
Also i had the feeling that caravan bonus was still given even the caravan was destroyed. One city had 3 different routes and only 1 was active with caravan but i got all 3 bonus in sum! Seems strange.
I see what you are saying, but if in fact I'm getting a negative muliplier My net gain here was zero.
Sort of like me spending 200 gold to build a construction yard for a 25% increase in construction speed but forts still take the full 20 turns.
they need just a road maker i dont even care about the bonuses except for the faster road travel.
At the moment I have“nt an really good idea how to change the caravans in the context of elemental, but increasing your foodproduction by trading with a city that has NO foodproduction is nonsense.
