Dev Tracker

Ok, I'll admit this post isn't just from me.  I was reading a reply Gravedancer made in another post about how s/he wishes there was a dev tracker included in Elemental's  forums.  I just wanted to create a post to bring it more to the forefront and why I very much agree.

I do like E:WoM, but it's with a grain of salt.  There are things I do and don't like about it, and most everything is covered by others so I won't bother posting about them here simply that it leads to this post.  While reading other user's comments is helpful, they don't actually tell me what will happen in the game or what is being planned.  The journals are helpful, but they don't cover everything that is said such as Brad's response about including Book 2 for people who already own the game.

While looking through posts, I read many of the responses, but after a while it just kind of blurs and I start skipping until i see a response from someone with the StarDock logo by their name.  Including a dev tracker would help people find posts like this that would be otherwise buried.

It's something we'd like to do, but unfortunately it would rely on particular backend changes in our forum codebase that are still a ways down the road. It's not really possible at present.

Simply having an advanced search would be a great boon for starter...

Except if I missed something, we can't even use parameters for the search function, it just looks for a word and randomly display the results. It's totally unusable in its current implementation.

If we could at least search for replies by a certain person, not just posts they started, that would be helpful.

Agreed with the couple posts above this.  The search engine used for these forums really could use an overhaul, but I think I'd rather see more updates for Elemental first.

End of Gravedancer's quote

This.

I mean we can see the 5 most recent replies in the impulse community view (although that is currently not functioning correctly for me) but being able to see a complete list of all posts (thread or reply) by someone would be infinitely more useful.
