Unit Costs

Just messing around with this game, and noticed ever time you finish your techology, get harder next one after that. So Choose wisely on your Tech path. Also some units are expensive and wondering if they have it balance right. Having good incomes will help out alot, but have to becareful so dont waste your golds. The upkeep maybe alittle too high, idk. Have anyone played this long enough to see if this is balance good enough?

I just dont want to go in there and redo all the codes.

They raised material costs on some stuff in 1.06 because party/squad "units" are ungodly powerful.

I don't think unit costs are that big a deal and unit maintenance shouldn't be a problem either.  There's no point in building up a huge military just to have it - use it to expand and conquer, and it'll not only pay for itself but feed the machine to grow even more.

Tech works the same way.  The only way tech prices truly rise is if you sit stagnant.  If you grow your cities (level them up), grow your empire, expand, then you gain more and more tech points per turn, more tech producing structures, etc, and the time to research techs doesn't really grow that much.  If you were to just sit on a small empire forever, then yeah, things seem to get more costly.

The game isn't balanced that well in general but I don't think unit cost and maint are an issue, per se.  The cost of some gear vs gear is way off and stuff like that, but overall unit cost and maint isn't that borked.

Cool just checking, having gold mines and more settlements will help. if lucky to have those special structures to help out even more. yeah i started my hero and no equipment, and i was looking at the cost of weapons and armors is really high lol.

Personally I don't like the fact you have to "research" to get better equipment in the shops.

I would like it better if the shops got better stuff as the kingdom leveled. Makes more sense that way, IMO.

Research (R & D) is how the corporate Capitalists were able to sell you a better computer! ie. HW, Equipment.
