Buy now, or wait?

On the fence...

Hey folks, big fan of Gal Civ/Stardock, and this game looks promising, but I'm hearing there are quite a few problems.  While it seems the 1.06 patch may have at least stabilized the game, it sounds like there's a long way to go.

Despite this, I'm still considering a purchase tonight or tomorrow.  Should I wait for patch 1.07 (or beyond)?

The game is fun, but there are at least 5 of these threads a day. Use the search function. That being said I say buy it and enjoy it. Its only gonna get better.

I would wait.  While the game is playable, and even enjoyable for short periods, it definitely needs a lot more "fleshing out" to make it all it can be.  I would wait at least until version 1.1 gets here in September.

The game will be better the longer you wait , within reason.

It will be worth picking up eventually.

Thanks folks!  Just looking for a time-eater until Civ V.

As with any forum take anything said here pro or con with a grain of salt. Typically forum goers represent a very small part of those who actually play the game. Then take it a step further, typically the people who are having fun enjoying the game are playing the game not on the forums. I would be playing right now myself but I'm watching my tuesday night tv show. So this gives me something to do in between commercials.

It's good, very fun for a while. Good foundation but lacks polish; balance issues and AI weakness limit replayability. If you have any doubt, wait, game is improving rapidly with each patch and will eventually be awesome.

[I, too, would be playing myself right now, but after a couple hours it finally crashed and I decided I could use a break, it is definitely fun. At least, it was for my first several games playing as a melee/adventurer/army-building conquerer - but trying to explore alternative playstyles (caster, particularly) is proving frustrating due to balance issues. I love that there are many ways to play the game, but most of them aren't really viable yet. I may just take a break 'til next patch.]
