Trying to Mod the Tech Tree, PLEASE help

I'm trying to mod the tech tree to where the weapons and armors are separated from one another, but the changes I made don't appear in the game, do I need to mod the core or something, how can I get my changes to stick in the game? Someone please help :(

Where are you saving them? Mine only work if they are in the Mods folder. Not in the My Documents area as was the original setup.

right I've been putting mod files in the units folder, is there somewhere else I can place that the game will pick up?

Yeah. Try putting them in the actual game folder. There should be a folder called 'Mods'.

I've already tried doing this with my "Mega Modpack". One of the mods separates the armor and weapon techs. It's an easy and simple fix BUT it doesn't override the CORE XML data which makes it require all the weapons. This won't be possible until we can properly regenerate the data.zip (without problems) or override the default game settings.

You could fix this (I've successfully gotten mine to work) but you have to reload the data.zip which regenerates all the gamecode. The problem is that the CoreKingdomStructures.XML have some MAJOR building errors and duplicates which will cause some problems for you... major problems.

Also, it shouldn't matter if it's in the "Units" or the "Mods" folder as long as you have "Mods Enabled".
