Could we get some acknowledgment please

Where's the "Known Issues" Post

I bought the game and don't feel I got what I paid for. Having said that I am aware that continued development is taking place and that one day maybe the game will be fun to play instead of kicking you in the teeth just as you start to get into it.

BUT, I'd really like to know what is being done. I don't need to know dates, or methods. What i would like is a list of known issues and that they are being addressesd.

Considering the state of the game so far such a post should be stickied and flashing at the top of the elemental forums. So far I haven't been able to find any official communique of this kind.

Here's one. There's this too: https://forums.elementalgame.com/394104

I don't think there's a comprehensive known issues list on the forums, but there's a few themes in the ideas forum so you can get a feel for what people think the issues are.

edit - damnit, third is what I get for typing more. :P

As noted previously, things are moving too fast right now for it to be practical to maintain a public list (we have an internal one that gets pretty much everything from the support forum fed into it), and most users ignore stickies anyway. But we'll be posting journals regularly as we go to keep everyone apprised on our status.

I'm actually doing one last sweep of the internet for our master list...I'll post my findings ASAP.

That would be great.

It's not so about the bugs and crashes (that we know will be adressed sooner than anything else) but the 'missing features' and other improvements.

Threads like this, with the quick dev response to a question that many developers would either shrug off or ignore (by locking the thread and any like it), is why I still have some faith in Elemental and Stardock. I just won't ever purchase another Stardock game until I read the review, a policy that very few games or developers warrant exception of. Even titles that, by all rights, should have shipped without issue like GTA IV (AAA title, RockStar having plenty of a budget to port the game from console to PC, etc) are often riddled with bugs and nothing is done about it for weeks or months. Stardock has already released patches that address the majority of the bugs that were preventing me personally from playing, and I have little doubt that those who aren't able to play currently will find help soon.

Its fantastic being treated like a customer instead of a sales statistic. Most other companies just shrug off any complaints, fix what THEY think is important then get started on milking the franchise to make 2,3,4,5,6 *cough*.

Funny you should mention GTAIV. I still have that game sitting around on my shelf, completely unplayable on the lowest detail settings despite having a machine that should be able to run it at medium-high settings easy. I reinstalled it the other day when they released some patch that god knows fixed something except for the slow fps bug experienced on my machine. Uninstalled it again pretty quick. I wish the gta4 box and contents were more useful than being a $90 paperweight. But don't mind me, there's more important issues to attend to like making GTA5 which I'll be sure to avoid when it hits the store shelves.

The bearer of truth!

My friend, I haven't looked at it again, but I owned the game 'Prototype' and, there was an issue were if you had any type of additional UBS ports you had to disable them in order to NOT get MASSIVE performance hit. Months later, still no fix, except the sticky on the forums telling you that you need to disable your USB ports. And this is a title released by EA... EA... You know that giant that's been around for AGES.

Definitely companies like Stardock (and Paradox) usually have amazing follow up on games and the actual devs post in their forums... O_O Something you don't see often. Just look at Brad, supposed to be on vacation somewhere remote, gets internet access and does what? Writes yet another update. :)

I'm really looking forward of watching Elemental Blossom with all the feedback and suggestions.

Don't stop the rock, and keep it coming!

Cheers,

V.

Thanks for your quick responses, kryo and BoogieBac!

I must admit that I would have simply ignored this post

Thanks for the awesome responses!

Both the links and Dev responses are very encouraging.

Please add my personal gripe to the list - Levelling up or garrisoning wounded troops in a city only increases their hitpoint pool, not their actual hitpoints. This can result in a marginally wounded unit that has levelled and returned to a city taking longer to heal to full health than it takes simply to build a new unit. This issue isn't too bad with single units, but magnifies significantly with squads.

Keep up the good work!
