For lurkers like me...

I own GC2 and SoSE. I have been following Elemental in these forums for about a year; waiting for the public release with great anticipation. Sifting through the aftermath of the event has left me with a sense of relief that I kept my money in my pocket. I respect the early adopters of this game because without you, there would be nothing to look forward to for lurkers like me. In the meanwhile, I will continue to lurk and hope things get worked out in good time. I plan to revisit my purchasing decision in 2011.

Btw, how long will it take for Elemental to show up on the shelf for $30?

It probably wont drop in price for quite some time. I'm guessing not until after an expansion pack comes out. If even. I'm personally not unhappy I got it. In fact, I'm very happy I did. I pre-ordered it. I never preorder anything. Yes, it has some problems here and there, but they dont affect me too much (if you have win 7 64 with an ati card, im sorry). BUT, what game hasnt had problems at launch? And the fact that Brad said we were going to get free updates until the community was happy is icing on the cake.

Game has its flaws, but it is actually pretty good.  Played it all weekend and enjoyed myself, despite some frustration with slow-downs, quirky UI, and lack of info.  Should be in good shape after a couple more patches.

Probably not for a couple of years.  However, I consider Elemental well worth the asking price now.  It's already a deep, addicting, and fun game, and it's only going to get better.

Its definitely not going up in price so I got my refund and will check the forum pulse from time to time. When I read good things, it will be worth the time to fork over my cash.

Just wanted to say that even win7 64 and ati gfx isn't necessarily the kiss of death.

I have that setup and have decent performance (should be better with my rig though). I've had a single crash so far, unless

I alt-tab that doesn't work. My secret may actually be that I have really old drivers. :)

New isn't always better in the world of drivers.

Yes, it may take a couple of years. I bought SoSE Trinity in Jan, 2010 for $30 (and that is still the price).
