Bunch of questions / bugs (?) / and badly needed features

Hi,

Love the game .. just waiting for the bugs to be resolved .. meanwhile:

1. When building improvements in a city I am sometimes allowed to build two of the same (arcane lore +1 building) for example but mostly

I'm limited to one building. Is this by design or a bug? If by design, is there any way to know in advance so I can plan my cities?

2. When recruiting a hero with the "additional prestige" skill I move that hero into a city but the citys prestige is not affected. I have

yet to find any other way to raise a citys prestige and +1 pop/turn is sloooow. Bug or as intended?

3. When starting a quest there is a brief pan/zoom to the location that I'm supposed to go to, however sometimes this pan/zoom does not occur or is hidden by some other event (combat results for example). On a large explored map it it a chore to find the target location.. is there any way to find it other than zooming out to cloth map and mousing over every bloody single little icon? Try unlocking lvl 5 notables and don't pick up too many of them and you'll see what I mean...

4. On the left is my list of moving unit and cities, this list needs a scrollbar!! I'm playing a large map and I've take over two opponents .. so I've got 5-8 cities that don't make the list.

5. The game desperately needs a kingdom spreadsheet overview. Examples: I've got one town producing crystals, how do I find which one? I can build a royal mint (or whatever it's called) in one city, which one is producing the most gildar? There is no way of scrolling through cities to my knowledge, shift-c is only for next IDLE city ..

6. When choosing a specialty for a city when it levels up, it would be nice to see that citys stats so I can make an informed choice as to what to choose .. this is on the assumption that the specialty affects the city stats?

7. Definite bug, the spell hurricane will throw the enemy to a random tile .. including outside the map in the grey void where I can't go ...

Thats all for now .. even if you've only got the answer to one of the above I would very much appreciate your answer :)

regards,

Tobias

Regarding 6, when your city levels up have a look on what's chosen on the lower left of your screen. The tabbed area where you usually have unit stats or actions listed. If it has the "Resources" tab activated, you can see what the town is currently producing. No way to see if you have a gold mine completing next turn, but better than nothing.

Nice set of questions, by the way. Hopefully they will get resolved.

As to the method of raising prestige in a city, you can choose the "Royalty" attribute on your sovreign and get 2 prestige per city as default. Later, pubs and inns grant additional prestige, as does the palace (but you only get one of those) and some NPCs heroes grant a prestige bonus to the city. And for me, I got the bonus from the hero, but it did not show up until a turn or two later.

How about this - when a resource is attacked by a wandering monster, tell me which city it is in. Every time this happens I have to scour the map for the resource that has been trashed.

I'll second #3. So hard to finish a quest sometimes, impossible to find where to go. Additionally, I feel that i've been unable to finish quests sometimes - returning to the original quest giver with item, but nothing happens.

I'll also second fsovercash's comment. That's annoying too.

This, exactly.  I once had a message saying that a mine in the northwest had been destroyed.  I spent a fair bit of time sifting through the map looking for this lone iron ore, only to find that it was in a remote corner of my empire, southwest of most of my empire but northwest of the nearest settlement.

EDIT: New here, hit the wrong "quote" button.  I meant to quote the message about giving more precise directions to a destroyed resource.

When you hover over the empire tree, as the list is called if I remember it correctly, with your cursor you can use the mouse-wheel to scroll the list up and down.

On #3, I've had this issue as well.  The game zooms somewhere and back really quickly, and I can't see or miss where it zoomed to.

It'd be nice if there was a menu/widget that showed you your current quests.  A simple 'look to the northeast (or whatever) of this location/city' along with the quest description would be helpful as well.  When you have several hires wandering the world, it's pretty easy to lose track of the various quests you have going, and at what stage that quest is (i.e. need to get 'x' materials and take to such and such a place, etc.).
