[BUG] Pauses / inability to click during tactical battles

Sometimes there are huge pauses in the middle of a tactical battle between an attack and the retaliation.  I mean like ten seconds or more where all the units just sit there doing nothing and don't respond to orders.  The game isn't frozen (I can move the camera around, idle animations play, etc).  It seems like this mostly happens with units that have horses -- that might be a clue, or it might just mean that I have lots of horses.

 

On a similar note, I've noticed that sometimes I issue an attack order, then have to select another unit and go back to the first one before I can issue another attack order (even though there are enough APs left).

Another thing I just saw, possibly related: I ordered a mounted unit to move, and it started galloping in place forever.  I only managed to stop it and get out of the battle by hitting the auto-resolve button.

I see the same issue, mainly seems to happen once I have champions on horses, long 10 second delays before I can attack again, see it happen during counter attacks as well.

Seeing this all the time in tactical now...probably the most frustrating thing about the game for me ATM. I have had luck, clicking on another champion and then back on the offending sovereign/champion, but still drives me crazy.

I saw this one a couple times today. Tactical battle is going nicely then the buttons stop responding, for me I waited a few minutes, i had to hit the auto-resolve button to get out.

I also had a really great battle, would have gotten some nice XP, maybe even nice loot, but on the last guy I had to hit auto resolve, then i only got credit for the last guy on the map.

Anyone know if that's normal for auto resolve?

OK. Couple glitches worth reporting. Starting facts.

Software: Windows & 64 bit, Swap file on drive: (8 gb), no swap on C: , Win EXP Rating of 6.8, DirectX 9c.

Hardware: AMD 965 CPU (quad core @ 3400), 8 GB Ram, 60 gb SDD(C:), 300 GB Velociraptor(M:,D:,E:,F:), 250 gb Maxtor, nVidai 9600GTE.

Game version 1.06

  1. Played Campaign. I accidentally sent a caravan to fortress outpost while harvesting gems in quest. The caravan got to fortress after quest completed, so sword award was made, but since My Sovereign was not with the caravan, sword disappeared!!! Ooops!!!!!
  2. Crash, with out of memory error, at random times.
  3. Consistent crash when ALT-Tab out of game (known DirectX fault.)
  4. Finished Campaign quest three times. Victory reported first two times, in spite of the fact my hero died, but troops won the battle. No Victory resolution. When my Sovereign survived, the victory report included the fact that the Campaign was over??? The partial victory screen did not give a clue, so I spent several hours trying to find the next challenge in the campaign game!!!!! Grrrrrrrrr!

As an aside, the final victory should be better demarked, so you don't defer the last battle, trying to prepare a mega army to take on the followup fallen army.

 

Game has good potential. But it needs more of something that is not quite there yet. Keep up the good work.

This issue remains in 1.07.

And I agree it's extremely annoying.
