questions on gameplay and suggestions

Hello,

I got a few questions :

- how to get married ?

- how to increase the "notable location level" ?

- what is the rule to determine the influence area of a city ? How to improve it ?

- how to build an harbor ?

- how to improve the equipement of a unit (for instance  to transform an experienced peon to an experienced heavy soldier), if it is possible ?

This game is very funny but there is a lack of informations regarding the gameplay and the user manual is not precice enough;

For the following patches of the game I would suggest the following ideas to the devolopers :

- possibility to upgrade equipement of the experienced units ( as it seems not to be posssible right now...)

- possibility to organise the troops before the begining of the tactical fights

- more information about the general concept of the games

Anyway the game is very good, congratulations to the develomement team even if some aspects have to be improved.

1. To get married, you need to get a champion of the opposite sex to join you (of course).  Click on them then click on the Actions tabs.  You'll see a golden ring among the icons: that's the marriage one.  They may refuse to marry you if it's the very beginning of the game as you need to have a reputation of 1 (kill beasties to raise it)

2. You need to research the Adventure tech tree.  Adventure tech tree is divided in three parts which increase your notable level for different things.  There is a great thread explaining which tech does what.

3. Influence increases by itself although you can improve that by building certain things (you need to research certain diplomacy techs and perhaps a couple are available under civilization) There's also a rare resource on the map called Scenic Spot which can increase your influence if I'm not mistaken.

4. A harbor can only be built if 1) you've researched seafaring and 2) there's a beach next to one of your towns.  Harbors can't be built anywhere else.

5. As far as I know, it's not possible to change a unit's type for the time being.  As for its equipment, I haven't tried it yet but I suppose you could change its equipment like a champion does by trading it better armor.  However don't quote me on that, someone else with  a better knowledge of the game will certainly be able to field that question.  In GalCiv2 , it was possible to upgrade a ship to a new model so it'll probably be added later on as an option.
