Temple of essence doesnt do what it says

The temple of essence says +25% essence but only gives like 1.25% (went from 17.6 to 17.8 for me)

I too noticed something like that...

When I occupy a shrine I should only get 10% essence unit bonus. But it feels "more" in contrast to building a temple of essence.
