During shop, diplomacy, and post battle/level up screens the game becomes very slow and unplayable and I cannot select any button.
Try updating your video drivers just to eliminate that as a potential issue. Your current ones are two years old.
sorry, fater 20-30 turns of game I experienced the same problem. The drivers are now updated.
