Please lets us know when the patch is available whether old save games will be compatible. Some patches they have been. But the small incremental patch that was just put in says they aren't. I would like to have finished that game before patching.
We had hoped to retain compatibility (albeit with a warning). That didn't work out for some people, so we had to force all the previous ones to not load. The goal is to avoid that in the future.
As a rule of thumb, most games like this old savegames will always be at risk of being invalidated when there is a patch. However, a warning would be nice, sure.
Someone suggested loading your old game, re-saving it, and then reloading it... maybe that'll fix you?
