1.06 patch report

minor bugs

1. I still have sound in combat that just stops after while

2. combat animation issues I think still with magic mostly it seems

3, I noticed that now my music just stops i belive after while I did not really think of it at time ill replay sometimes and verify this.

major bug

1. out of memory error - fixed i think ? i dont get it any more so far

2. new crash to desktop - elemetnal.exe has stoped working

also some debug issues missing textures and sounds mostly, I also think last thing that was in my debug was about me killing a this monster but that happened like 50 turns ago. ?

 

o also in bedbug it said that the caverens can not find a driective moving on to next city.

Yeah, I noticed a few sound issues as well (1 and 3 pretty much hit the nail on the head)

 

I tried to get my debug.err file up but pastebin just hates me *tear*

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.

If there was a dump zip created in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic on Windows XP), please post that too.

I have been having the same issue with the sound as well. It seems to just stop after a while and then - suddenly there is a sound to inform me that something was upgraded or someone leveled or what not.

What has been bothering me more were missing textures - like the banners in the upper corners during Tactical Battles and overlapping of menus and texts.

Another issue I have found was that I cannot expand the list of my Armies or cities anymore. The only way for me to select any troops within my Sov's army is by selecting him and then selecting the images at the lower bottom. It works - but it worked better in 1.05.

Another thing I noticed is that I have a whole bunch of missing graphics. So no pictures in the different tech trees - missing graphics in my Book... nothing.

Try clearing the screens directory from the ProgramData folder and then run the game again and see if the same occurs.  Info on where the folder is: https://forums.elementalgame.com/392578

I must say that I hadn't encountered any of this bugs. Instead:

* After Alt+Tab the cities status bars shows graphical artifacts (need to quit and restart game to fix it)

* After Alt+Tab Dx invalid call error and CTD

* Units sometimes are spawned just at the enemy ranks

* Mouse buggy behavior while pressed Ctrl or Shift key

* Sity status bars are randomly changing to some other enemy city existing on map

* Units trained shows with less then full HP - wounded in training?:) But when they got out the city they are fine.

* Missle camera still annoying. It just shouldn't turn on if the attacker is farther then ... some degrees to the side.

* Overall choppines on small map with lots of building - perfectly smooth on the cloth map or in the zoom ins.

* Mixed up mouseover tips at colours tab while creating custom faction.

Suggestions:

* Path lines

* Highlighting selected unit/city icon (top-left)

* Possibility to join/rejoin stacked units - just like Manage option from GalCiv2

* Difference between party/garrison units stack in city screen

* Showing 12 "rings" at unit stack - limit is 12 but to se the 12th unit I need to hit the little right arrow

* Implement right hand exit from Training menu ( just like it is done with Build menu

* Focus campaign map while autoresolve or at goodie huts exploration

* When auto resolving use archers first.

so this funny as heck I have not had every any issues with missing gfxc and stuff that I know if, but I have noticed bugs i talked about things listed here that flymar talks about no issues at all like that.

funny how we all having randomly diffrent problems and when one person is fix someone elese ends up with new issues and when thoses peoples issues are fixed then someone elese gets diffrent issues.

Thanks for the reply - but the folder is completely empty. There is nothing in there that I could possibly clear. I'd really enjoy being able to see the Tech-progression pictures again and having a half empty book on events is rather dull as well - so if anyone has any other ideas; I'd welcome them.

After playing few hundred turns with custom kingdom faction

* after reload of save game ring icon for observers was changed to icon of forward observers. When building brand new observers it appeared proper, but whole pre-load observers have bad icon

* once I stuck I couldn't get training menu to appear. Neither click not T key worked. All was working at next turn

EDIT (another turns):

* Soud FX at battles missing

* Projectile spells are not shown when champion is mounted

* Choppiness increases. Basically I switched to clothed map.

* Deploying armies from the city to enemy ocuppied terrain make the armies stack - should trigger attack.

 

SUGESTIONS:

* Resouces tile info - show unavailability for faction - now I have to click the buid button to get that info.

EDIT: I guess it's my fault. It is shown in the right lower info window.

Units in cities get +5 HP as a defense-of-homeland bonus; when they first enter the city (or are first built) they haven't filled up that extra 5 hp yet, so they look wounded.  For example, a new peasant in the city has 5/10 hp on training, then 5/5 when he leaves.
