Yep.

My performance gets worse, seeming the more I expose the map.  Way too many random CTDs too.

My PC is beastly and super clean (I'm a computer programmer/person, my PC is pristine).

My PC crushes far more demanding games for hours on end.

This is my only issue with the game, hope it gets worked out.

The game is fantastic.

There are new ATI drivers as of 8/26.

I did finish a game without any crashes but I didn't have long to go to finish it so I'm not sure that there's any diff.

Sluggishness and hellishness still there just like before.

This is a bit of a dichotomy isn't it? Obviously those other games aren't "far more demanding" if you can run them fine, but not this :p .

In all honesty.. this is the only real problem I have with the game.

It slowsdown alot in later turns.

I was reading on this forum though that they said they have found a fix that will improve FPS by 15FPS or something.

Hope that means lategame to (:

Well I think he means that a game like this shouldn't be more demanding than say a game like Crysis. My computer can run Crysis fine, but it still experiences slow downs with Elemental. Elemental doesn't have graphics anywhere near that demanding. For a better comparison I can run GalCiv 2 huge map with all the AI players using CPU ehanced algorithms without any slowdown as well. There's clearly something up with the code of Elemental that it would be slowing up beastly computers where other more advanced games aren't.

This is being discussed here; https://forums.elementalgame.com/391334

This is also the main reason I've stopped playing the game for now.

Exactly and obviously.  Elemental is a graphically simplistic game compared to something like Crysis, which I run at maxed settings, 1900x1080, with silky smooth performance (which is pretty sexy, amazing looking game and huge fun), and I run other far more graphically (than elemental) demanding games similarly.  And I too run GC2 with any sized whatever and maxed settings/algs with zero problems (other than alt + tab being iffy and usually crash inducing).  I lead 25 man raids in WoW with maxed settings and tons of addons most people recommend not using while raiding and get 60fps and zero issues (WoW isn't graphically intensive per se but large scale events put lesser PCs to the test for sure).

Read Boogie's latest thread - one of the top 3 issues they're going to look at is high end PC's having crap performance with the game.  :/

 Something is afoot!

I'm also experiencing this...with 1.06 installed as well.  My crashes were solved with 1.05 but the late game slow down issue still persists.  I can't enjoy this game which really blows.  It's *almost* there but with this issue there's no point even playing if I can't complete a single solitary game.

Ugh...shitty.

Is there something I should post (save game?) that would help the devs, or is the issue known and just needs to be fixed?

If you are wanting to finish games you can turn on the cloth map in the options. Then the game goes quickly again but without the eye-candy.
