Can someone please explain what is the difference between Kingdoms and Empires? I didn´t find it in the manual.

Life and Death spellbooks. Other than that, mostly cosmetic and a minor relationship modifier.
well, plus different monsters that you can train, a few different items you get to equip and slightly different focus on city improvements. It's nothing deep but it's a little bit more than cosmetic.
