HOW --Do I cast spells?

or do most anything?

Sure I can get that little box that says CAST and I can punch that button BUT ...

For example, the Teleport or the Protect City (or whatever it's called).  I'm not seeing that anything is happening.

Then in a battle, how can I use Magic?

or to put all of this in perspective:  I really think some major EXPANSION to the MANUAL is needed.  A manual should not only tell us WHAT is in the game, which this one does fairly well, but HOW to do things in the game.

I need some help here too.  I have been unable to cast any spells out of battle.  I have teleport, etc. researched as well.  I was able to use magic in combat through.

Spells cannot currently be cast on the main map while inside a city. If you cast the city enchantments from a tile adjacent to the city, that should work. Teleporting also requires that the caster is leader of any army he is in.
