Married With Children...

My wife and I got married at 21. Started having children at 22. Had four children respectively at 22, 23, 24, 25.

We are both now 27. My children are now 20, 14, 6 and 2. Whats up with that!!.

We started having kids at the age of 7!!! lol!

children grow faster nothing wrong there

I assumed this was done for balance reasons but it has bugged me since beta that children mature faster than puppies.  Of coarse going for realism means your sovereign has to age much faster or your children much slower.  I'm not sure either scenario would be more desirable.

Sovereigns aging faster sounds good to me, you cant die of old age anyway, the only person who would die would be your wife, and by then you wouldn't be makin babies anymore anyways. You could get married again, but for diplomatic reasons only. I miss the fact the game isn't as centered around the dynasty as originally intended.

Aging is different in Elemental than in the real world, duh! Either that or Frogboy is using Tom Chicks new math again!

Think how long it'd take children to grow up if the aging was accurate. Right now it takes 100 turns for them to reach 18 (and then age normally). It'd probably take thousands of turns if aging was accurate.

The children aging they way they are is fine. :) I dont want my channeler to grow old too fast now. Eternal youth FTW!

What's frustrating is that even though the children's ages go up much more quickly than their parents, is that it still takes FOREVER for them to grow up at all.  I  have played several games for a couple of hours and still not had a baby older than 13 or 14, with Fast pace and getting married on turn 1.

How did you get married on turn 1?  They always tell me I need a better reputation.;

All of the aging points mentioned assume that Elemental is based on a solar year that equals 1! It may take longer for the world we are playing on to move around it's Star. Not to mention that a planet splitting cataclysm based on magic has to play Hell with physics. Also a little suspension  of disbelief is helpful for enjoyment of any show!! It is a game people, have fun with it!

Female soverign, married Janusk. I guess he's not picky?

I think that this was possible in the pre-release, but not with the Day 0 patch.  In any event, I start asking NPCs to marry me as soon as I recruit them, and take the first one who says yes.  Any benefit having a higher level NPC spouse might convey to your children is lost on me, since it takes too long to get children anyway.

Also, is there a way to check how much reputation an NPC requires before they'll marry you?  Without actually proposing, that is?
