[1.05.016] Army gets downsized, game crashes

So I loaded up a campaign game I had saved before a major battle and find out that my army's full squadrons (or whatever the groups of 8 units are called) have been replaced by single units. They are displayed on the overland map as squadrons, but their stats are clearly those of single units. Upon entering battle, this is confirmed - single units only.

Inevitably losing the battle, I'm informed my sovereign is transported to the next city, then the game crashes.

All of which is reproducable.

Yup same problem on the downsizing of units. Happened to a saved campaign pre-1.05.016.

CTDs happening if I alt-tab whether in fullscreen mode or not and its also random.

Another problem is when i go into tactical battles, randomly, the screen will be all whitish. I don't see the mouse cursor but the ui is still clickable (albeit me doin it blindly) and the sounds are there. I have to alt-tab out and quit the game and enter the saved game and the battle again. The next time round, it's all back to normal. Izzit a video/gamplay option setting I'm not choosing rite. i disabled pretty much everything and run it in 1280 x 1024 as per my desktop. Currently having a NVidia GeForce 7900GS.

Yeah, had this happen to me too - and posted a new topic before I found this one, oops.  I didn't get any accompanying crash though.

Ha, yeah, I just posted in Corbeaubm's thread. Same deal. Squad downsized, but no crash (unless I alt-tab).

I have noticed recurring problems with calculating hp's and # of units for stacks.  It seems to be a bigger issue if stacks are made and then the game is exited and re-loaded, and I haven't noticed a problem unless more than one stack of units is in the same city.  Especially if one of the stacks loses a few guys.  It's to the point where I can mouse over the same city three times and it will tell me different "hp/hp:", "hp/total_hp", and  "# of units in each stack" each time I mouse-click.

I still haven't figured out if all units in a stack are supposed to "grow back" after losing some in battle or not because of this bug.

I haven't noticed this to be such a huge problem with normal dudes, but it happens almost universally with Darklings (Empire tree), and I recall losing a bunch of Umberloth's (or whatever the next tech in the Darkling tree is called) one time.  Although I think it has happened with stacks of peasants and such, but I probably just wasn't paying that much attention because, really, who cares about peasants anyway?

Posted about this in another thread as well since I didn't see this one.  Haven't noticed it on normal units.  Just special ones like demons, dragons and umberdroths.  I also have noticed the escalating hit points in town.  The cap keeps going up and they keep trying to heal up to it.  When you take them out of town the cap goes to normal.
