My wife died! Now what?

As soon as I got married, before she could even get back to town, my wife was attacked and killed by bandits. So how do I get a divorce? How do I remarry? I have no children, my wife is dead, so am I just cheated out of a dynasty for the rest of the game?

I am suprised the game does not support the concept of polygamy. Ok it doesn't fit the moral code of modern society we have now, but the world view is different in the game.

As a soverign of a country, in a land devasted by disaster and low population, it should encourage bearing of offsprings and, polygamy in the old days is the way for the rich and powerful to do just that!

First of all, let me say that I'm sorry for your loss. Some people were meant to be single for the rest of their lives... and it looks like you might be one of them.

Noooooo! Why don't they allow divorce or remarriage?

its one go thing, if your counterpart dies, its game over in the love thing stuff.

but i assume there will be fixes later that enables you to remarry, maby even your own children :D

Yeah polygamy happend alot in our own world history. However this isn't just a case of the whole of civilization being decimated is it, the land is dead and you cant grow much food so population boom would mean starvation.

Back on topic:

Yes it would be nice to be able to re-marry if your wife dies, a period of mourning or something would be a more reasonable penalty for letting your spouse die, where in you loose 50% of your stats or something for 10 turns and can't remarry until then. BUT you have to have the ability to remarry otherwise you just get cutoff from a major part of the game for a fairly easy error to make.

Now what?! Are you serious?!

Enjoy your life! Celebrate and then get a much younger hot girlfriend! ;)

I still say there should be 200-400 turns of "mourning" for your wife before you can remarry.

Wait...They still haven't fixed this? WTF Stardock?

Yeah, agreed, we should be able to re-marry, especially if wifey dies.

Be more careful with your woman next time dude! lol.

Maybe stupid question but how do you marry in the first place, so far i never got the option and the game was close to 300 turns.

Polygamy would be hard to balance, they have much more important things to worry about.

However, remarrying should definitely be in the game.

you select a hero of opposite sex of your sovereign, and there is a ring icon you can select then. Enjoy ;-)

If they don't want to allow re-marrying, they ought to let you decree a certain hero to be the heir to the kingdom.  That way you can pick your best character.

It can be a "Make heir" action button. Should be simple, Id' think (coming from ZERO programming background!)

Why do we need 595,226,436,876,238.75 threads about the same thing? XD Also, isn't against common sense to marry while the spouse is in some enemy range? Blame on you! :P

Sorry to say but, I think this is another aspect of poor design, how can you build a Dynasty without a spouse? If your spouse dies before you have heirs, it's game over. So unless the game is about killing other kingdoms spouses before they form a Dynasty, this game should allow you and the AI kingdoms to remarry.
