UI annoyances that need fixing asap :D

Its especially annoying when the game thinks you're done with your turn (with auto-turn on), even when your main hero is standing idle with 2 move points left, and your capital city is wide open and ready for construction and training those new units you just designed.

SWOOSH, its 5 turns later, brigands attack a peasant, thats all the popup window reveals, i think "meh, just a peasant" and click auto-resolve and it turns out it was one of my friggin villages, destroying it completely, next, within a second or so after choosing my next research (which just popped up a split second later), a "YOUR CITY LEVELED UP " popup reveals itself, with a nice pure black background with no interface or display of WHAT this friggin city was specialized in, so i choose a bonus randomly and hope that particular city was specialized in that particular field.. 3 options, 33% chance to get it right, i got it wrong. It was my knowledge capital. Fuuuuuu.

The game crashes, luckily i have auto-saves every 3 turns, so i load it up. What do i see? My research i picked the very turn it auto-saved is now gone forever, since it saved before i picked the research discovery (i assume). Furthermore, my entire view, no, the entire LANDSCAPE is now filled with 30+ goodie huts, many of which are duplicates with 2 in the same spot. The game chugs, i stare at the mess on my screen, clogging up my cities. And just decide to quit and wait for another patch.

lol... Yeah its easy to get annoyed, but i still love the game. I just, gah. I dunno.. Had to vent a bit :blush:

I complained about it in the beta, but I still have no idea, when a city levels up for a second time if the value of what I'm selecting:

1) Repalces the perviously selected specialty.

2) Adds to the previously selected specialty.

3) Replaces the previously selected specialty, if I chose the same class.

I mean... whu?

When a city levels up, it automatically selects the city that levelled, so just check the bottom of the screen for what stats it has.

My two biggest UI complains are....

-- it should NEVER end the turn until I click 'end turn'. It drives me nuts that it seems to advance to the next turn a lot. Maybe this could be optional?

-- The foreign relations screen needs to show more at a glance. I want to see treaties, resources, relations, between myself and the other players and between the other players, like how civ 4 does it. Right now I have to drill into each and every player to check on this information, which gets repetitive and starts to feel like a chore

@sage2 the bonuses stack (20%+30%+40% = 90%)

@ Bobby there is an option in game play to end turn when all movements are done. I think it's under gameplay. You can de-select it.

I'm still waiting for UI love in two key areas - city management and characater movement.

There really needs to be a cities screen where you can see and adjust what every city is building, rather than have to check in on each one individually. Out of city improvements like farms and mines should really be able to be built through the city screen like everything else.

Regarding characters, there should be something that clearly highlights where a character can move to with his/her remaning moves this turn.
