They don't seem to heal over time. Is it only if they're in your area of control or something?
I think you need to be in a city for them to heal. Thats the only way I have had success with it so far anyway.
They heal 1 hit point per turn outside, put them in a city and they'll heal a lot quicker.
During the campaign putting the units in the city didnt heal for me, I had to just stand them within the cities' influence. Also when one of my companies' of spearmen were decimated down to 1 unit they did not heal back to a full company....stayed single. All my companies with 2 or more units healed back to full numbers. Not sure if this is intended.
my damaged sovereign didn't heal automatically at all.
