Couple of Noob questions

Just fired it up this afternoon and doing the campaign to try to get my bearings.

  • What am I supposed to do with that farmer?  Is he supposed to be part of my "army" or is there something for him to do in the town?
  • When I get to the second city, where the Queen gives me the first quest, there's a guy with a blue square next to the city, that says he's waiting for orders when I mouseover him.  But he's not part of my party, right?  He's not waiting for my orders?
  • It's not clear to me (an experienced Civ and Heroes player) what I'm supposed to be doing in the city.  Just build one thing after the other?
  • What do I click on to see what quest I'm supposed to be on?

Thanks for any help.  Just feeling my way.

1) if the farmer gives a bonus to food production, leave him garrisoned in the city.

2) He's not part of your faction, so no he's not waiting for your orders.

3) Yes, build whatever you like in your city. The focus of the campaign is, however, on your hero.

4) If you click on the crown at the bottom left hand of the HUD you will be able to check your quest if you select the kingdom tab. It will show you your kingdom, current quest, and completed quests.

I've noticed that units seem to restore 5 hit points per turn when they sit still in a city.

You can eat food, use items, or just not move the unit group. They heal faster in cities and also get a +1 health regen bonus within your area of influence? Not sure on the last one, but I have read it in the forum recently.

Okay, thanks, I have noticed that when I rest overnight in a city, I heal faster.  Doesn't help on the road, though.
