Group Leader

Is there anyway to change a group leader?  For example, I have three heroes in one group.  Since most of their names are so ridiculous I can never remember them, let's call them Bob, Hank, and Phil.  Bob is the group leader, but only has 4 spell points.  Phil has 10 and can cast teleport, but since he is not the leader, it doesn't work.  Is there a stat that determines the group leader, or is it random?  I know if the monarch is in the group, he or she is the leader, but I am talking about other groups.

I believe that the group leader is either the one with the most experience (aka highest level) or the highest combat rating. I didn't know that you can't use teleport if your not the group leader.

I cast it and a flash of light appears where I want to teleport, but no mana is used up and my group stays where they are.  It only seems to work if the leader of the group casts it.

I recall a bug that was reported before that teleport only worked if the Sovereign casts it.  Could this be your issue?

Nope, my leader of that group now has enough essence to cast it and it worked fine.  It would be nice not to have to save his mana for teleporation if another group member could cast it though.
