Enemy stops acting in tactical combats, after a while

Hey folks--

I've poked around on the forums for a while in search of a thread on this problem, but (unlike various other issues I've been having) it doesn't seem to be represented anywhere.

The issue is this: I've gotten midway into a few games now, but each time, I get to a point at which the enemy stops acting properly in tactical combats. They'll sort of . . . "run out of steam"--they won't do anything on their turns. The enemy takes its first move in each fight normally, but after that it just sits there, for turn after turn, not even counterattacking while I pound on it. In each subsequent fight, it's the same. I can start up a fresh game with a new character, and the problem will go away--for a while, but then it'll eventually come back. Ditto if I return to an early enough save in a messed-up game. Oddly.

Has anybody encountered this? I'm actually experiencing it on both my desktop (Athlon 64 4000+, 3.25 gigs of RAM, GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card, running XP) and my laptop (an Asus UL50VT with an Intul U7300, 4 gigs of ram, GeForce G210M graphics card, running Windows 7 64-bit). So . . . two very different machines, both of which run this game OK but find themselves in an unplayable (or at any rate unloseable) state after a while.

Hmm. One thing I didn't realize was that, in both the games on my laptop and the games on my desktop, I've been using heroes with the Intimidating advantage. That's meant to have some kind of negative effect on enemy morale, so maybe it's related to this . . .

Some users have reported that their morale is inexplicably 0 in battles, preventing movement--I'd suspect the same is happening to the AI. If you have a savegame that reproduces this, the devs should be able to load it in the debugger and confirm so we can track this down.

Happens to me all the time. My sovereign had the Intimidate trait so most of the times, facing weaker enemies, their morale went down to 0 immediately or after 1 turn at most. It made battles trivial and unintresting.

Other related oddities:

- Catapults always had that 1 extra turn even if there was one catapult facing an army rating at 1000

- When facing an enemy with the intimidate trait, my morale was always down to 0, making the battles unplayable. Even if i had a huge army against that guy only.

- Hitting auto-resolve corrects the problem and finishes the battle as expected

Unfortunately i don't have a savegame handy, sorry

This save reproduces the effect, though my morale is listed in the battle as being 2-7

edit: To provide further details, my sovereign has all the traits that reduce morale and all the ones that buff the enemies.  I wanted to use the extra points for other things.  If my AP is supposed to go to zero and stay there with low morale then this save probably won't help.
