City Defence in tactical map

Hey when im defiending inside one of my cities, how come my combat map is of a foresty or just the enterence of my town? no walls or towers?

I've had the opposite problem: waaay up in the cold, dark north near a forest I attacked some beaties - and had a cute little village in the background, complete with mill...
