[Interface Issue] Jittery mouse in overworld/city map.

I've noticed while placing city plots that the mouse gets really goofy. Oftentimes actually creating the new construction in a square different (but nearby) the one I was intending to build into.

Similarly, while I try to select multiple units from a city stack to move out, if I hold down Shift while I move the mouse, it moves REALLY slow and jitters by about 1/4 inch. If I move my pointer over the unit, press shift and click, then release shift and repeat for all units I wish to select there is no such problem.

Ultimately, neither of these are game-breaking but it would certainly help smooth out the interface.

Thank you Stardock for taking the time and effort before, during, and most importantly after release to make sure that your games are solid over the long run.

Similar issues here too, especially the 1st one. To me, it also occurs during character movement and selecting squares to move.

Same issue, I'll expand on this a bit. I'm having the same issue, but it's not only for city improvements. If you have the city building improvement window open, or the unit training window open, if you try to move the mouse around to look at the map (i.e. if you forgot that the city's window was still open) the map/ mouse get very jittery and you can't move so well. As soon as you close the building window, it's back to normal.

If the building is getting built in the wrong spot, maybe it's because you were attempting to click away (not build the particular building) but the window was still opened and so it chose to build in the plot of free land closest to the mouse cursor when you clicked? That's what it seems like to me.

What sort of mouse and drivers are you using? Try using the hardware mouse option while we look into this, that should help.

I'm having the same problem as the OP (his first problem)

For the second problem: Have you tried selecting all the units individually while holding ctrl?  This is what I normally do and, while not fixing the problem, could be a workaround.

I think if you have the city improvements window open, it tries to center the camera on the city so any attempt to look around can make the camera try and snap back.  Maybe you have another problem, just my two cents on what might be happening.

I suffer the same thing but more for the selecting units by holding down the Shift or Control keys.  The cursor moves smotthly without them pressed, but press and move, the curser jutters about like its scared of something.

I use a Razer Lachesis mouse with latest driver and firmware available for Windows 7.

I have an A4 Tech mouse and I'm getting this. About 50% of the times I try placing an improvement in a city, the cursor jumps at the last second, making the improvement end up in some other place than I intended.

I have the same problem when trying to select troops. My mouse is Logitech G500 with latest drivers. Selecting the hardware mouse option solves that issue, but when I start a new game the mouse cursor is off. I have to move the cursor about 1/2" below the button/area I want to select.

I also have a issue that might be related. Every time I start the game the mouse cursor is stuck at the top of the menu screen, I can scroll it back and forth, but it will not move up or down. I have to alt-tab out of the game and click back into the game to get my mouse to work in-game.

Do you have your taskbar set to the top of the screen?

Yep I sure do.

Moving the taskbar to the bottom solves the mouse bring stuck issue. I just really dislike having my taskbar on bottom. :)

This also solves the hardware mouse option being 1/2" off.
