Campain Help - cant cast stategic spells

I have plenty of mana but I can't figure out how to cast the spells Teleport or Make SpellCaster.

I am in a town, and want to teleport back to my original town. Click on Relias select the spellbook and it gives me a courser after I select cast spell but then when I left click on friendly territory even one move away nothing happens let alone let me teleport back to my first town.

 

Similar thing with Make Spell-caster. Press cast spell and it gives me a courser but left clicking on the same hex that has a champion in it and nothing.

 

Of course right click just deselects. Please any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong.

I haven't figured this out yet either. I wanted to summon a fire giant, and I can't do it in battle, but when I try to do it on the map nothing happens. I get a cursor that gives no feedback.

I had some problems too, it seems that you can't cast when inside a city?

To cast spells on a town, I had to move out and then cast it, while being right beside the town

For teleport I had to be outside and cast it on a title in my territory, I think an empty one and not a city tile?

for summons I had to be outside the city also and cast it on myself

Make sure its not because you are low on action points in the strategy screen? try starting a fresh turn and casting.

Thanks for the reply I just tested it. You do have to be in friendly territory and outside you town to cast both teleport an Create Spellcaster. Action point didn't matter I could cast teleport twice in the same turn just used an action point each time.
