how does paypal work?

Ok here i am again with a question regarding the actual acquirement of the game in europe (will wait a few weeks anyway till i have a new pc, might also mean that most of the childhooderrors/crashes/bugs and stuff are gone by then). I was intending to let someone else buy the game with a creditcard for me but then i was told about paypal. This seemingly allows you to pay through your bankaccount. When i click on purchase and elect paypal i do indeed find this option when i ask for more information about paypal but 'create new paypal account' only allows the payment methods 'creditcard' and 'billmelater'. Any idea if its possible to buy directly from your bankaccount using paypal? This will spare someone the trouble of buying the game for me (person would have to create impulse account and select 'gift' eventhough the person in question is not a pc-gamer at all...)

Thanks for your help especially in the mids of trying to solve all the childhooderrors the game is facing at the moment.

You can connect a bank account to your Paypal account. If you do so, then Paypal can draw from that bank account when there is no money in the Paypal account itself. You can do the same with a credit card. You will have to make an account at Paypal directly and do it there for security reasons.
