Do anyone know how to build harbor?

I have the needed tech in civ tech tree, and I have raised some of the cliffs (at least 3 str square in a roll) to turn them to shore, yet i am still unable to build any harbour. Any idea?

ahh, this was a bitch for me too, you have to look for a verys specifi spot on the coast that has a small ramp heading down to a beach.

They need flesh out the martime thing as well. would be nice to have ocean trade routes.

I built harbors easily in the previous versions, but in this latest 1.05 I can't seem to do it even in cities that are near perfectly acceptable looking beach :(

oh well, building land bridges with raise ground is more satisfying to me anyways :P

Yup, built several. I suspect it's changed so you have to build it against the ramp edge, rather than being able to build it on the other side of the city.

So you mean that artificial beaches made by the 'lower land' spell don't count? So if you don't have a natural landslide you're out of luck?

I think that is correct, I can build them if there is already a beach without any issues in 1.05.

However, I cannot raise or lower the land to make a beach...

You need to build them on a beach which is a slope which goes into the sea. One issue you might be encountering is that the harbour will not be available to build until you are close enough to the beach to place it. You might need to continue to build improvements towards the beach until you are close enough.

I managed to build a harbor on natural shore. I havent been successful on 'RAISED LAND' shores. Then again, for my successful harbor, my initial townsquare was 3 grids away from the shore. Whereas my other cities, (with RAISED LAND spell) they were much further away, but I was building my city towards the shore. Might want to test out if city was built 3 grids away from RAISED LAND, wehether it might work.
