[BUG] Quest bug with the Level 4 Sagog Egg Quest

Hero #1 got the Sagog Dragon Egg Quest

Hero #2 was close to the target for this quest, so walked over, fought the big fight, and completed the quest.

Hero #2 then went back to the quest giver, and the dragon happily thanked him for returning her egg and said she'd now join us. She didn't join us. She didn't show up on the map anywhere. She didn't show up with Hero #2, or Hero #1. Which is a bummer, I was all excited about getting my first dragon.

I took the egg back and nothing happened.  I have done the quest a few times before.  But this time nothing nada zip.  Not a big deal once you research dragons though.

What happens is if you have too many units in the stack you won't get the dragon.. as far as I can tell. First time I did it, I had a full stack and didn't get the dragon, the second time, I only had four units in the stack and I got the Dragon (who kicks ass by the way).

Not sure what the #s are for how many you can have in a stack, but I think that's the issue.

They still ought to fix it so that you get the option to choose whom to drop or it simply makes the dragon a lone unit/second stack that happens to be in the same tile.

I've never been able to finish this quest. When I'm about to return the egg, that yellow-glowed goodie hut is simply not responding when I land there. Either with a stack of 10 units or just one, with the sovereign or descendants, heroes, etc. This none-responsiveness isn't exclusive to this quest. There's other quest places that occasionally pop up and I'm unable to active them.

I could not finish this quest either. It really bugs me because I wanted that dragon really badly! Also couldn't finish the Forge of making quest but I am pretty sure happened because my computer crashed in the middle of getting the second piece. Was fighting spiders.

I was also unable to finish this quest. As mentioned above I also had a non-responsive goodie hut. I have the egg. I can't turn it in.

I tried it with just my Sov, no dragon.  Reloaded and tried with a full stack, no dragon.  Decided it was broken so didn't try the various [Sov + (n++) units; n=0] to see if there was some combination that would work.

I've had the goody hut unresponsive thing several times, and was able to get it to work by making sure my sovereign HAD THE EGG IN HIS INVENTORY when I went back to the hut.  The most recent time I did it, hero 2 actually got the quest, and got the egg, but I had to trade it to the Sov to complete.  Didn't matter that when I went back, hero 2 was in the stack with the egg, had to actually give it to the sov to complete.  Try it.

Yea, this happend to me once in the Beta. I only tried once after release, and it mysteriously worked hehe.

Hm. I did all the stages with my sovereign (+/- units throughout the stages) and while the dragon said she would join, she didn't. I had only two other units with me at the time, so leading too large of an army wasn't the issue...  I wonder, if next time doing the quest without switching units in and out would help?

I had the egg in my Sovs inventory each attempt.

As an aside, 'equipping' the egg caused no reaction (IIRC it didn't seem to recognize I entered the square).  The egg had to be in the Sov's inventory and not 'selected/equipped'.

I wonder was your Sov's group full? I completed the quest just fine last night. But I did move out one unit to make sure i had room in the army for the dragon. Sarog Joined up just fine. Not a bad dragon, 96 attack, with a 3 mana true damage fire breath with infinite range that hits for 96 each time....

Completed the egg quest. Dragon said she would join me, NO DRAGON. Game still constantly crashews. ELEMENTAL HAS STOPPED WORKING, and multiple OUT OF MEMORY messages. Very poorly designed game

I had the same problem in one of the replies above, that going back after recovering the egg -- with a hero (not the Sov) did nothing, it would trigger nothing at the hut.  Several folk mentioned using their Sov, so I teleported in my sov, gave him the egg and had him enter the hut alone.  That did it!  Ended the quest and got me the dragon.  She looks like Donkey's wife from Shrek, lol ... kinda purplish.

I read in another thread and tested that ingame, that hero who leads the battle in temple needs to be one that returns the egg in order to complete the quest.

Also, quest is buggy, and only case when dragon will join is if you don't exit or reload the game after winning temple battle. If after battle you save, and then load the game, you'll complete the quest but will not get dragon to join.

Yes, that ruins didn't respond for me too.

Ruins seem to not work at all - they don't disappear, but after first visit they do nothing no matter what they contained.

The hero that got the egg cannot necessarily return it.  I had to transfer the egg from the hero who had done all the previous steps in the quest to my Sov to then return to the dragon.

Yup, only hero one (in army) is the only who started, and finished this quest. Never got the Dragon, but the egg disappeared after visiting the dungeon again.

Just of be clear. In my case sovereign was leading attack on the temple, but was not the one who started dragon egg quest. And after battle, he was only one who was able to get quest to end.

I can't get it to work either. So, in order to finish the quest, should I:

1. Have Sov lead temple battle.

2. Do not save game.

3. Have Sov take unequipped egg to quest destination.

Are those the steps?

^That's what worked for me.

Doesn't mean it's only way it works.

One thing is certain: save/load after temple and you'll never get the dragon as reward, even if quest completes.
