The leveling experience:(poor) I'm soo definitely modding a stat elixir merchant in this game.

I always feel that I need at least 5 extra levels when leveling up any hero or sovereign.

Honestly, investing essence on heroes is too much!

investing extra points for HP is too much,

There should be a mechanic to gain essence. Perhaps visiting a shard for the first time gives a permanent bonus of 4 essence or something like that ala Heroes of might and magic.

Please just hand out a few fixed bonus stats per level. Or add an elixir merchant in the city shop.

"Please just hand out a few fixed bonus stats per level".    Yes, please.

Actually, given how important Essence seems to be - I'd rather give out points for Essense and Constitution (HP and MP) and let the rest of the stats go up once in a while based on their class (adventurers might gain map moves more often or Researchers up INT more, etc).

That said, what mechanic do "regular" units use to level up? I notice I don't get a screen for them. Say when my Lady Archers reach level 2 - I don't get to set their points, but their stats go up - so SOMETHING like this already seems to exist?

I support this motion.

I also noted that unit gaining levels get HP but nothing else.

The same stands with training more experienced units. Sure my Veteran macemen can handle that mace much better than the rookies, yet their attack values are the same.

Also do resistances become better? what about spell resistance and spell saves? do they exists? How can I protect my army and my champions from those horrible spells?
