Day 0 Patch, When? Dev ETA?

Ok, its day 0, I realize I can play it now, but I would much rather play the real version with all the fixes. Can we get a dev ETA at least? Its nearly 4PM est. its almost going to be a Day1 patch.

So, wait, the version that I've been playing all day is basically the beta?

No wonder it feels broken.

Just so I get my time-zones right. is Stardock located at GMT+6? I've been using a rough calculation from here in Australia of add 8 hours minus a day (easier than subtracting 16 hours). My guess as I write this at 5.45am here is that it is 1.45pm over there (of the day before).

I feel like I must be playing a different pre-release than everyone else.  I've had some weird issues in tactical battle with the mouse being aligned improperly and clicking not being registered sometimes, but I haven't seen much other problems besides that in terms of stability/fluid gameplay

isnt the 1.01 patch the current one and the day 0 patch?

Im mainly interested in the new AI, the game is fine on my comp and I have had no problems, but after reading about how terrible the current AI is I am holding off on playing untill the new one is in place in the Day 0 patch.

1.01 was released last night as a midterm fix to some immediate problems, Day 0 patch is due out sometime today and has MANY more fixes, improvements.

1.01 is not the Day-0 patch.

I'm actually encouraged, in a way.  While I'm annoyed that the game came out without actually being ready, it at least means a lot of the issues people are talking about on here will hopefully be gone soon.

Just a heads up, I get off of work in 2 hours.  So you still have a few more hours until it needs to be ready to go. ;)

The release date of Elemental has been August 24th for a long time.  We released the game early to our pre-order customers and beta testers because several retailers broke the street date.

Any version played prior to the 24th is, by definition, a pre-release version.

Me too. I really really really want to see these patch notes.

Can you give us a couple more Frogboy? Just to make the wait a little easier? :'(

No...I downloaded the game on the morning of the 24th.  I'm in the eastern U.S., same as y'all, so same time zone.  I pre-ordered after the beta was closed (only a day or two ago).  Or are you saying that version 1.01 is somehow a pre-release version?

The game was available for download if you preordered before 11pm EST on the 22nd

It'll be up tonight, the 24th. You are playing the pre-release version, yes.

Copying from link above:

Here’s a few highlights:

  1. The UI is updated to be somewhat more intuitive.
  2. The campaign is significantly updated (though only for those starting fresh).
  3. Resources are treated more like units. This is hard to explain but essentially the game will let you know of what resources you’re not using and how to make use of them.
  4. There’s a lot of performance improvements the day 0 build, particularly for those with lower end CPUs.
  5. The “day 0” AI is in it.
  6. There’s been a polish pass to the spell books and tactical battles.
  7. There’s been a general polish pass to the main game UI overall.
  8. There’s been a lot of balancing to monsters, units, etc.

And Stardock! one patch per day is excessive, even for you. There is such thing as "too good". 1.01 was probably unnecessary, but much appreciated.

The whole thing depends on your meaning of "pre-release version".

Some stores broke the street date, and so retail users were getting their retail CD version (ie: gold version) early. So the people who ordered from SD directly didn't get left in the cold, they released 1.0 which was actually somewhere between the gold version and the day-0 version.

The day-0 version isn't actually out yet, so what was intended to be released isn't out yet. That said, it's kind of iffy to call what was sold on the retail CD a "pre-release" version.

Yes.

By 24th release that means anytime after 'delivery' time. Which is normally 4pm. So yes you got to get it early.

really looking forward to the performance update

I can't wait until it's the 25th so all this confusion is over.

(not that I'm confused, just saying...)
