After getting quest to bring "tome of d'h..something" I instead of going back east, went west.
After some point (I believe seeing some message at the pits) I was not able to return back for the tome - the map just does not let to go back, it's like clicking on mountain or watter.

(I was able to return to prev. save and complete the compain quest, I am just reporting a bug).
