I prefer the cloth map over the 3D view.  Not just because the 3D view has some performance issues at the moment but because it's so much easier to tell at a glance what is happening in your kingdom.  It may not look as nice as the 3D view, but in terms of accessibility and the way it presents information, it's superior.

Yes I use cloth map often; 3D view is uninformative and overburdened with extra details.
