[Gameplay] My bride is gone....;)

Hi there,

Yesterday I've started my first campaign and it ran really well......until I decided to found a dynasty.

Unfortunately my selected bride (after the marriage of course) decided to run into a bunch of evildoers who quickly finished her off.

Yeah, it was my fault, don't let your beloved wander around in uncivilized areas searching for whatever without anyone to protect her. B)

Now after an appropriate time of mourning I decided do try it again....BUT it wasn't possible. In the dynasty screen the late maiden still occupied the slot and without any offsprings this dynasty (well sort of) is doomed.

Is this intentional? Hell yeah, its romantic and maybe suitable for a game of fantasy....but at least political not useful. }:)

Yes, you only get one spouse.

I thought that Brad said you could get a "divorce" by following a similar method and then remarry? Losing your one and only wife before reproduction kinda puts a crimp in dynasty management :P

The devs definitely should introduce "divorced by death" to the world of elemental. Think about that: one unlucky development disables the whole feature dynasties for the rest of the game!? I think that is of questionable design.

As a side note: Isn't it what those priests at Christian marriages always tell: Married until Death divorces you?

Hi,

mmhh......okay, thanks for the answer, but it's true: dynasty management is in this fatal case not useful anymore. Maybe in the future this limitation will be skipped.

In the meantime I'm going to create a new unit called 'Spouse Guard' which follows the Bride everywhere..... :D
