Some questions and suggestions. Primarily questions though.

Greetings, been lurking around here for quite some time, but now that I've been playing some I have some questions.

1. What do trade routes and caravans actually do? Other than make a road. City details says something like 24% trading with Blurmur, but it doesn't inform what that percentage is applied to.

2. Defense rating seems to improve both damage resistance AND dodge. Am I right? Highend there seems to be a lot of missing in combat.

3. What factors affect to-hit chance?

4. How is damage calculated? Seems to be random from 0 to attack value minus random 0 to enemy defense value. Am I right?

5. In the research screen, I have light armor listed as a possible result. When I get the breakthrough, light armor is not an option. Does this mean it won't be available to me in the current game at all?

6. If you lose your sovereign, can you continue with an heir?

7. What is the effect of having / not having resource required to build a certain troop? (Metal for example.)

Hmm I think thats about it for the moment. Then a few suggestions / wishes:

-Can we get a combat speed slider? It's a bit sluggish in the long run.

-Love the better combat camera in the 1.01 but can we get a check box for disabling projectile following camera? Or atleast make the camera return to the previous position.

-Moar tooltips.

1. They give bonus resources. If you select one of the traders on the route and look at the unit info you'll see something like "20% food", it adds a bonus to the production in it's home city I think.

2, 3 & 4 it seems to be attack rating vs defence rating (randomised) with whatever is left over being the damage. Part of the reason you'll see a lot of misses is that if the damage is completely absorbed by the defence of the target it'll register as a miss.

5. Nope, every time you make a breakthrough there's a chance it'll be one of the options. It'll come up more frequently if it's Likely than it will if it's unlikely

6. Think that was taken out

7. You can't build them.

The defence might seem random but theres multiple factors in there like body armors protect more vs cutting weapons, and head armors vs crushing weapons, I think shields vs Piercing. Its kinda like the old gal civ armor/shields/flak vs Mass drivers/Lasers/Missles really.

though I haven't played enough to figure out all the interactions there yet.  (and some of its based off of snippets of what Brad said before)

I was quite sure I could build units without metal, but maybe I'm wrong.

Here's another one. The Sovereign card (or any other really) don't update when you equip stuff to them (the picture and pose). This is probably a bug I imagine, but is there any way to force it to update in the current version? Yeah, Vanity is me.
