Founding a Dynasty:

Does anyone find it extremely difficult to come across a female in this game? I should, with the lack of female NPC's, be able to marry another kings daughter or something.  I think i'm 200 turns or so in and i haven't seen a boobie anywhere.

Join the club - I think cause I made my sovereign a nerd with poor strength and high IQ.  Maybe you need a flashy horse and cart first with a health bank balance.

Well I started my game, and immediately after Janusk shows up my sovereign spot a female dressed in blue robes. Ofcourse I recruit her on turn 2, costs a whopping 14 gildars. Then I try to propose her, she declines as I'm not famous enough.

So, I spot a bear cub and some spiders and we whack them to oblivion, level up and then she agrees. Cool. I then begin to inspect my sov's spouse... Let's see: She's royalty, got the looks, ok stats and a special ability... DOMINATION. I mean come on, I can't help but chuckle! A wife with domination, haha!

Reminds me of my own life, so I rename her Laura.

In addition of the ability being cool flavorwise, it kicks ass. So I imbue Laura with essence, as using domination costs 3 mana. What it does, is in short; it prevents an enemy unit in combat from counter-attacking whe struck in melee.

Years pass, and I finally meet a (neutral?) drake sovereign named Snafu or something loitering around a (neutral?) village with a same name. He threatens me, so ofcourse I attack him with my army which includes my sovereign, dominatrix-spouse, 4 wimpy scholars armed with bows, spiderling, 3 bears and a fire giant. Thanks to the domination spell, I kick the sorry gecko's butt with only losing one bear... Only to see the drake flee to the adjacent tile, where his village is, while his combat rating is multiplied by ten as it looks like there's an elemental lord there. Bug or not, looks like the village is off limits for now.

My sov now has 4 children, the eldest being 19 years of age. When do I get to see him as a unit?

I've released a Heroes Mod (in the Mod section) if you're interested. Not that it has many women in it at the moment (maybe 3-4). I'm actually planning on expanding it sometime with more women who are marry able as the base game does seem to have some gender inequality issues. This also hurts because the AI leaders START married and immediately are making babies (lucky bastards).

I'd also appreciate any help you guys have in modding, if your interested :)

At 20 years old, is what I think Brad said.

Ah ok, my patience seems to have run out on a critical moment. Thanks!  |-)

I got a wife and we aren't making babies!  Maybe she doesn't like me :(

How long did it take you guys to start popping out the babies.

I noticed my sovereign was about 23 when first baby, a boy, was born. Didn't really check, but I guess the sov starts at the age of 20? Didnät check the turns either, but was pretty soon.

Now, my sovereign is the proud father of a son and 3 daughters, aged about 19, 15, 9 and 5 if I recall correctly.  :andrew:

Well, i think you and your wife have to be on the same square for you to make babies.

You just need to pounce on the first female you see and marry them. I computer never seems to have a problem finding a wife - I think they steal them all.

Not at the moment, from what I've read around here. Haven't played enough post-beta to confirm first hand, but in the last beta you just had to be married.

Err . . . how do you ask them to marry you?

Select your sweetheart. On the Actions tab, there's a button with a ring picture on it.
