Odd items and what they do?

I've run across quite a few random items that don't have an apparent use, so I was wondering if anyone has found what you can do/get with them. Feel free to add your own weird items, maybe someone else can help out too.

Midnight stones, destiny's sliver, elementium, and the very odd seerna body (screencast.com/t/NGE4YTNk).

Elementium is used as a component on Legendary Shields.  I assume it's a component on some other very high level magic items as well.

Ok, so midnight stones have been discussed to death but I'm still completely in the dark about elementium and destiny's sliver.

The latter appears to be nothing more than vendor chow to the tune of 250g per pop.  Nice but more than a bit opaque since it appears to be questy in some way.

Elementium is curious.  I was able to buy things requiring it for absurd prices, such as 6250g for the "Karrazan's Sword" (World of Warcraft much? Mixing BWL and BC in the same item is just too funny) but said price PLUMMETED as soon as I found my first cache of elementium.  To the tune of 2200g which is a bit over a 4k drop in price.

Elementium is used to make the top class magic armor, its used just like metal for units with those items. As to the Destiny items, no idea.

Yeah, I just verified that elementium is indeed used directly when you give troops legendary armor.
