Can't build farms or any other resource gathering building...

Hello,

after upgrading to the release version I can no longer build farms or any other resource gathering building (mines, libarary, etc.). Needless to say that makes the game pretty much unplayable.

I tried uninstalling and doing a fresh install but that did not help...

You need to click on the resource now to build it.  This was a change from the earlier versions where you built from the city build menu.

A bit counter-intuitive but that's the way it works.  I haven't made up my mind if I like it or not, but I honestly don't mind it but it does take some getting used to.

You're trying to build them by clicking on the tile, not from the city right?

Click on the resource to select it and then click on the hammer icon in the bottom left.  If it's grayed out then a tool tip will tell you what you need to build it.

ah, I see. Now I feel kinda stupid... They could have kept the old way of building the stuff for us beta testers...

Technically it was like that in beta 4

Question regarding this, does it enter the city construction queue or does it build on its own

Don't feel bad.  I suspect that many people are going to overlook this unless they're told to specifically click on the resource to build there.

It's been asked a few times already today, don't feel bad. :)

FIRE YOUR BUILDERS! LOL.

It's not in the city queue... well, it is displayed in the city queue but it isn't diverting construction from it. Brad said a while ago that you can no longer build them as city objects... which sucks because that was part of my strategy. However, I'm pretty sure they did this to prevent the multiplications from some of the structures or something.
