Elemental: Preparing for Release Day!

Greetings!

We’re hoping those of you who got the early edition of the game are having a good time with it.  We’re on the chat channel (you can get to it in game by hitting Shift-Tab).

Some modders have already submitted some really cool maps which you can get to by hitting Shift-Tab and clicking on Mods.

We have a pretty big list of new things for the day 0 version over what was in the “gold” version that some people got and the pre-day 0 that we put out last night for those who pre-ordered and the beta group.

So here’s what to expect:

  • Lots of new Seed maps
  • Fixes for some crash issues that have been reported
  • There is an Alt-Tab crash issue on ATI cards that we have a call in to AMD about (the game uses a particular driver feature that is having an ugly side effect). If you can, run the game in a window (if you run it at the same resolution as your desktop, it effectively is the same as full screen).
  • Lots of little polish things being fixed, particular in tactical battles with regards to camera control and such.
  • Some various balancing tweaks here and there.

 Once I turned off AA my sovereign appeared and i played the first 100 turns or so.  I was enjoying the game although I had some pesky bandits loot a city I did not have properly defended.  Live and learn.   And of course I was up until 4:15 AM which made it difficult to make it into work today.  Oh well.  Sleep deprivation is the sign of a good game isn't it?

I'm from belgium and i cant find a place to buy a boxed copy of elemental? arent you bringing it out in belgium or is it just digital which i would hate because on princible i want a nice little box that says "elemental war of magic" gleaming on my shelf :D(seriously i wont buy if i dont get a boxed copy) can anyone enlighten me please :)

The game will not be available at retail in Europe, however you can get a box direct it you're willing to pay for shipping.

Frogboy, I am using a ATI card and have attempted the windowed mode version you suggested.


Its great, apart from a single issue- in windowed mode edge of screen map scrolling doesnt work- nothing happens! :(

The mouse wheel did not fix the problem for me.  The first time this happened I was able to switch back to the previous camera view by clicking randomly on my sovereign.  The second time it happened, I was unable to switch the camera view back at all.  It was only until I turned off the camera option and started a new game did everything work fine.

Speak to your Congressman or Representative about European taxes. I believe that it's beginning to get too expensive for companies to profit from doing business there :P

Just played the game for several hours and Elemental really is a wonderful game!

Sure, some things can (and will) be improved by patches but even this gold/pre-release/whatever version is great already!

Assuming your talking about the combat victory status display screen then I believe that is the Sovereign's experience worth. If he or she is killed then the victorious unit will GAIN 50 XP. Most units have various worths.

I indeed have had quite a lot of fun and have gathered some more word of mouth interest from friends who have watched me play!  It is a fun game.
