Combining units

Is there a way to combine units of the same type into larger squads?  In the campaign my Tarth Bowmen did ok for a little while, but eventually once I started fighting tougher monsters they didn't really do much.  If I could merge them into a squad I could still use them effectively.

If this feature isn't currently implemented, what are the chances of doing so in the future?  I realize that this is not as simple of a task as it sounds given that you would need some kind of check to ensure that all of the would-be squad members have EXACTLY the same equipment (and maybe even the same name).
