Banished Ones ...

Okay, so a Banished one (and that final enemy Sovereign as well, apparently) can cast a spell that damages all enemy units.

As far as I can tell ... maybe its "supposed" to be randomized. However, what it actually does is always deal exactly 10 HP damage to every enemy unit.

That, as far as I can tell, makes it unwinnable other than with autoresolve (because the enemy sov regains mana every COMBAT turn)

I mean, if the "kill all ur doodz" spell was just a one-time thing, then I could sacrifice a small army to get ready for the main crew. However, with mana regenerating during battle AND the spell only costing 3 mana, it seems like a bit of overkill to me.

Also, Fireball, Arcane Arrow, and Lightning Bolt = all the same spell, only Lightning bolt costs 3 mana instead of 2 for some random reason. Yep, they are all just 1-11, instead of for instance Lightning Bolt being 5-11.

and Infernal, misses 66% of the time making its AOE useless ... yea, I've never once hit more than one target with Infernal, which is over twice as expensive as Arcane Arrow.

Now, on for displays. Say you have 5 units of "War Hammers". 1 unit is level 5 and the other 4 are level 3. If your scrolling your mouse across the unit list, sometimes they will all appear with the HP of a level 5, and sometimes they will all appear with the HP of a level 3. You have to click them individually to find out which is which.

AFAIK the demon only casts his spell once per combat. So it's tough, but hardly unwinnable if you've got group units (just don't have any weak heroes there).

Magic is subject to defense. Strong enemies are best fought with swarms of units, rather than nuked down.

Hmm, I didn't see the ability to build group units in the campaign, that might have just been my bad.

So the always 10 damage is not a bug then I take it?

Anytime a spell does no damage or an attack does no damage (ie mitigated by defense) its displayed as a miss, its thrown me off a bunch of times.

right ... but if a spell is 0-50 damage why does it seem to miss 20% of the time? xD
