[BUG] Jittery Mouse Cursor

I'm thrilled that the game is out! However, I noticed that the mouse cursor is very jittery while the string key is held, which is extremely annoying when trying to select multiple units.

It's the shift key, not string...

This bug is a very strange one, that is pretty annoying when you want to select units from inside a town. Why do you need such a tricky manipulation to select them in the first place?..

The jittery cursor seems to occur whenever any of the alt, shift or strg keys are held down. Still happens in 1.05, too.

What sort of mice/drivers are you using? We solved this previously on our setups, but if you're still seeing this, you should be able to fix it by using the hardware cursor option while we look into it further.

I experience the same issue while holding down shift. I currently do not use the Hardware Cursor option but have not attempted to do so. I have an ATI HD4550 without the post-leak-fix drivers though the drivers are not old. My mouse is a Sunbeam uh... Sunbeam Somethingorother.

I hope this helps specify it a little bit.

[Edit] What kind of techie am I? I was using the 1.0 version prior to the day-0 major content patch.

I'm using a Logitech MX518 mouse with the default Windows drivers (version 6.1.7600.16385). Using hardware cursor indeed fixes the issue, but eliminates a lot of feedback that I consider essential for play, so I'd rather not do that.

My Logitech Mx510 has the exact same problem, with new drivers.

Same problem here. Razer Deathadder here with Razer driver.

I use a Logitech Trackman Wheel mouse with updated drivers.  I get the same issue.  It's not that critical, just sort of weird.

Logitech G9, same problem. I was using the CRTL key, selecting units to bring out of a city. It can be avoided by crtl clicking, then let go of crtl, then move the mouse to the next guy, crtl-click again, etc. A bit annoying, hope you get this solved.

Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000. I've also had this same problem for a while, but using the hardware cursor has fixed this for me. As for my drivers I just plugged it in and Windows XP auto installed them so I'd have to check what they are.

After installing the new ATI drivers (25 august ones) now I have the same problem, but even if I don't press shift or other keys.

Before I hadn't any problem.

I have Win 7 64, and a Radeon HD 48xx (4870, if I'm not wrong)

It happens with all my 3 mice: Logitech air, Logitech MX Revolution and Logitech G700

It's not only jittery, it disappears when I move the mouse quickly, in particular it disappear a lot in some screens, like the win battle screen.

The hardware mouse hasn't the problem, but I hate to use it, because obviously it does not change for different actions.

[side note: the cursor should become the standard feather when over a menu or a button]

I also started noticing this only after installing the latest ATI drivers, and it is present even when not holding any button down.  Moving the mouse will cause the cursor to disappear until the mouse stops moving.  Hardware cursor does fix this, but as someone else pointed out earlier, that removes some feedback from the game.

razer salmosa, same problem, have not tried changing options to regular mouse

After updating to 1.06.19, it worsened, and forced me to use the hardware cursor to play  >:(

It seems a little thing, but it's really disturbing, now I find this worse than the OoM crashes.

I have this problem too and it's very annoying. Using a generic HP mouse with Windows drivers. Also using the latest ATI Catalyst display drivers, if that matters at all.

Logitech MX518, same issue.  Default windows drivers.

im have the same issues, one way im getting around it though is if you click on your first unit, then move to the next shift+click, then release,  do the same for as many units you wish to stack, you shouldnt get the laggy mouse pointer.  I was able to stack 10 units with relative ease.

It seem to happen a lot to ATI cards users... Like me.

But this one is only annoying. Not like the one, that may be related, that changes the click point to make it 50 pixel under the mouse pointer. It forces me to exit the program and restart it. It happens after between 1 minute and half an hour of game... Do any of you have this problem too?

I have the same problem, but nvidia card so i doubt its something to do with gfx..

Razer Diamondback

Windows 7 x64 pro, default drivers (6.1.7600.16385) from 2006...
