Figured out what I'm gonna do until release

Turns out GFWL is having a sale this weekend on AOE3 Complete ($20) so it's finally at a price I'm willing to spend on it. Does anyone else play it? I had tried the demo years ago and thought it was a decent enough game, but didnt want to pay nearly what they were asking.

Anyway, what are other people doing while they wait for Elemental to release.

In my case, Team Fortress 2, a Fighting game tourney Saturday, maybe some baseball watching, and maybe run through a Saint Seiya Marathon (I have 30 eps to watch of that)

Going back to hit up some Demigod (where are those new characters?) as well as rolling up characters for a new Pathfinder campaign. Also managed to get a friend of mine hooked on Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. Even with all of these many ways to kill time, I'm still totured that I'm not playing Elemental yet. Checking the website every 30min. to an hour to see if they changed their minds and are going to let us start downloading early.

Personally I'll read Elemental: Destiny's Embers that just arrived in the mail

So far so good! Only been able to read a little bit but what I have read so far hasen't disipointed me.

Good work FB!!

I am going camping.  But there is a burn ban.  So I can't make a fire.  Which means camping is pointless.  But I have to go anyways.  Bleh.

Do you happen to live in or about Vancouver?

Aside from checking the forums I'll be playing Icewind Dale and SC2 as well as reading, writing and working.

Started playing Risen the other day; it's kept me pretty well occupied.

Also been trying (fruitlessly) to beat Spelunky for the billionth time.

Plan on reading through Statistical Power Analysis for the Behavioral Sciences, 2nd Edition, by Jacob Cohen.  Needless to say, I haven't done power analysis in a while and thought it would be good to get a refresher :)

Pretty close.  Seattle.  We decided to go to the Cascades as opposed to the Olympics, one of the few temperate rain forests in North America.  Bet I still could have a fire there ...

With all this talks on this forums about AoW: Shadow Magic, I found my disc and installed it. There is a chance that I will play that game... or not.

TF2 is always good for relaxation though :)

I'm playing Forza Motorsports 3.  LOL

Age of Empires III was/is a great game.  Probably the best resource focused RTS to date.

Sadly GFWL is taking forever to download. After 4 hours, I'm only 35% done. Oh well, I have other things to keep me occupied until that finishes.

Waiting for a surprise early release.  I know realistically, we won't see it before late Sunday (prove me wrong!!).  However once I resign myself to that fact and stop checking, I have a feeling I'll come back Sunday night to find out it was released earlier.  I know after Monday, it won't matter anymore.

I have to say GFWL is rediculous. I've been downloading AOE3 for 12 hours now and it's still only 90% done (and I'm on a 6Mbps connection... effectively tested as of a few hours ago). At least I have a weekly friday get-together where some friends and I watch Stargate and other Scifi'y kinds of shows. I suppose I'll head off to bed (dreaming of various game worlds and all the new cool things that one can do in them).

Is that game pretty good? I was hoping to play the new ravenloft board game but they pushed the release date back. Guess I will pull out Conan Hyborian wars or Arkham Horror boardgames.... probably both since its gonna be a loooooong weekend.:annoyed:
