I am sooooo looking foward to this game. I only read about it a couple of weeks ago, and have been sucking up any tit bits of information about it I can find anywhere. I am a long term strategy fan, Gal Civ, Sins etc, and love the idea of the 4x RPG hybrid.

Loving the sneak peek story Frogboy, but I too have some questions about the Dynasty system.
As an earlier poster asked - how do the children units react when a marriage to another Kingdom/Empire occurs? Does the incoming son become your unit, does the Sovereigns daughter become their unit? etc.
Also - since different members of the Dynasty are x in line for the throne, if your Sovereign dies at any point does the next in line become the Sovereign that you direct and play, or does the game end?

Tuesday cant come soon enough!

This is Beta info but i'm sure it still holds true.

1. The female joins the male in all occasions. So if someones daughter marries your son then the daughter will become your unit. Your daughters will join other factions if married away.

2. If your sov dies its over, there is currently no succesion.

Seeing poor young Sandra marry that... guy... gives me an idea. Maybe your children could have a chance of running away from an arranged marriage based on their compatibility with their bride/groom and their loyalty to you. If they run away they might seek refuge in some other civilization and start working for them as a champion.

That's a good idea! If it isn't in the game, it would be cool if it could be implemented later.  It would also be fun if these kids could have affairs with other sovereigns that could break the marriage, etc.  The more detail/random events added to the dynastic system, the better!

Also, I would like to be able to request a dowry as part of the wedding deal.

This is in the game but it never happened to me in the BETA. The Faction perk "EVIL", kills children that try to defect to other factions. Atleat thats what the description says.

That's a shame. Given the depth of the Dynasty system and the detail involving who is x in line to the throne, some sort of succession system would be a great addition at a later time.

I was wondering the details of the dynasty and succession system too. My gut tells me it's quite basic right now but they will develop it more in patches/updates.

Yea, from what I understand the Wives become a unit of the Husband's nation. Meanwhile, all children from the unit have like a 66% chance to run away to the Nation the Wife used to belong to.
