Sundayevening/Mondaymorning release is only for betatesters.
ehhh... thought it was Sunday for beta testers and Monday for preorders?

End of Elvisman2001's quote

You are correct Elvisman2001, but in more detail: Sunday night for beta testers and Monday morning for those who have ordered before the 23rd of August.  On the 24th o August, you will have to download a update to be equal to the retail version.  However, Frogboy (CEO?) said that they will try to do this, but it's not totally guaranteed.  If I am in error, please feel free to correct me.

does anybody else notice elemental NOT appearing anywhere in the 'My Games' section of Impulse?
End of satch4684's quote

I don't have it, either, but I got an email confirming my order, so I know I'm ready to go once it's released.

finally..i guess waiting that last month wasn't so bad..

does anybody else notice elemental NOT appearing anywhere in the 'My Games' section of Impulse? I don't want the beta anyway, but I hope it isn't some sort of screw up that will stop me from downloading the game on release day, I've already pre-ordered and paid for it a month ago. now that I changed to a different computer, I don't see elemental anywhere on my account as if I never bought it.
End of satch4684's quote

It'll prolly be monday morning for Euro beta testers as well. In fact, I thought the whole sunday evening/monday morning thing was refering to timezone differences.

Seeing poor young Sandra marry that... guy... gives me an idea. Maybe your children could have a chance of running away from an arranged marriage based on their compatibility with their bride/groom and their loyalty to you. If they run away they might seek refuge in some other civilization and start working for them as a champion.

Question about the Technology treaty.. seems to me Umber is getting a far better deal out of it than you are.. so why do they value it so low?

I want this game... NOW! (breaks down emotionally and goes insane)!

I think it depend from research potential of faction and maybe level of relationship. Umber get more, because their research base poor compared with player faction

oh, ok, they must've just halted on the beta being available to buyers, since its so close to release date now. That would explain it not showing up in 'My Games' section for download anymore.

satch4684, yes they have uploaded the gold build for reviews, etc so they have disabled pre order copies so we can't get at it until Sunday or Monday based on whether we beta'd it or pre-ordered it.

I can still see it on my list and can't help but try installing it every hour or so just in case, I really need to get out more.

Hope it's okay if I ask something about gameplay.

One of the biggest problems I have with these types of games is stacking units on one "square".

- Does Elemental allow stacking on one square, or some kind of limit?

- Is there an option to disable stacking?

I am curious about children. Will their stats be higher than they were in beta?

Hehe ... 3 HP children seem a tad weak, I hope children are usually at least 5-10 HP. (since Con can't go below 5 on even a custom sov :p )

Quick question, I am eager to play the game.  I pre-ordered the game, so I should be able to DL the game on Monday @ 0:00 (if all goes well).  But what time zone is Stardock using?  I live in the eastern time zone (-5).  I know, I know, I'm obsessed with playing the game.  I only found out about the existence of this game less than a month ago.  Otherwise I would of helped with the beta versions.  Sorry Frogboy!  I'll help with v1.0 of the game.  I promise!

  O:)

I am actually surprised that despite the marriage to the rival, AI decides to ally with you, even though it was visible from the past shots that it should be upset about this marriage. I think it could have been handle better, something like "the price for this alliance is high because you gave you daughter into the marriage to my rival, and I am upset".

I'll see your ETZ, and raise you to NZ time - around 17 hours ahead of the US East coast!

So, might my monday morning download be ahead of someone elses sunday night download?  O:)

That's a good idea! If it isn't in the game, it would be cool if it could be implemented later.  It would also be fun if these kids could have affairs with other sovereigns that could break the marriage, etc.  The more detail/random events added to the dynastic system, the better!

Also, I would like to be able to request a dowry as part of the wedding deal.  :erk:

tengill, im about the same.  just get 7 hours of sleep.... thatll leave you 5 hours for 'other stuff'

I agree with RooksBalley.  A dowry should come with a daughter if I have a son to marry.  And I should give one if I have a daughter to marry.  It could be a Diplomacy research option.  This should be implemented in future updates.

Why (only) with daughters?

In the middle ages it swapped from one sex to the other after huge numbers of men died (war, etc)!

Is that true?  I never knew that!

In that case, just allow players to request a dowry regardless of gender.

No offense, but makes little sense.  If both sides have to give a dowry, then it counterbalances the offer making it void.  Again, I do not want to insult you in any way.  It's just my opinion.

I am sooooo looking foward to this game. I only read about it a couple of weeks ago, and have been sucking up any tit bits of information about it I can find anywhere. I am a long term strategy fan, Gal Civ, Sins etc, and love the idea of the 4x RPG hybrid.

Loving the sneak peek story Frogboy, but I too have some questions about the Dynasty system.
As an earlier poster asked - how do the children units react when a marriage to another Kingdom/Empire occurs? Does the incoming son become your unit, does the Sovereigns daughter become their unit? etc.
Also - since different members of the Dynasty are x in line for the throne, if your Sovereign dies at any point does the next in line become the Sovereign that you direct and play, or does the game end?

Tuesday cant come soon enough!
