Game was erased SN Invalid

I was playing the Beta 4, just messing with different concepts and got told I had an Update.

So I was like odd but ok, it started updating, erased Beta 4, then errored and said my SN was wrong so I could not install or update.

Now beta 4 is gone and I have nothing.

Not Cool Guys, not cool at all.

The beta is closed. Just wait a couple days until the game is out, and you can download and play it to your heart's content

My guess is they may have done this to erase the old beta files and force users to have a clean install of the gold files.

That is not the POINT

I was able to "play" but they took it away without notice.

Mostly I was seeing how certain parts worked.

It was not the way to treat customers.

Someone in the IT Dept should be sweating bullets right now.

Bad enough to get folks hopes up with the big UPDATE NOW pop up, start the Update then say it needs to erase the old, THEN it checks and decides it can not install.

Many many things wrong with this series of events.

So please take your non helping remarks else where.

They're explaining what happened. Take a deep breath and cool off. There was a news post that the beta is over.

AND once AGAIN it is not that BETA is over it is the WAY this was done.

Remarks like Get over it are not helpful at all, I was trying to be light hearted at first then got hit with these

This only upsets me.

It heleped in no way except to do that, which seems to be the posters reasons for doing it.

I know, but the way it was done is just Wrong.

Also I checked the Page on Impulse for about 10-15 min the release date was listed as the 19th .

Changed back to the 24th now, but for awhile.

It just feels like some one at Stardock has decided to really #$@! with us, and even if all honest mistakes, too many made in a very short time.

Which really worries me about the Invalid IDs, a not ready for DL is one thing, your Registration is wrong is quite another error to send out.

Now see I was with you until this.. no way in hell it was intentional.. an unfortunate error yes.. if dates are tied to and .xml file that many files reference a simple mistake could have easily caused this..

True, but also points to a lack of testing before putting it on the live server.

I did say feels, not that it was.

But in public opinion Perception is greater than truth.

Anyhow, someone official should have dropped a note already, and has not.

If you saw the 1.0 version number before you pressed update:
The game isn't supposed to be out yet. You should have know it might be a mistake and as a result it could go wrong.

If you didn't see the version number before you pressed update:
It's beta. Things often go wrong in betas. No use complaining.

Anyhow, someone official should have dropped a note already, and has not.

I'm sure someone [from the Gaming dept.] will.

In the meantime you can be certain that no-one from Stardock has "decided to really #$@! with" you or anyone else for that matter.

There is no value/mileage in it.

1) anyone with beta experience knows some times things happen.. The OP even admitted it looked odd..

as to this since the error happened after business hours they may not even realize it happened yet. they may have a hard time figuring out if it an error happened let alone what due to limited staff at these times... so I am not surprised at the no official response..

(mind you I am not doubting what the OP described in the least.. merely point out why we may not get a response to how, what, and why something changed)

As posted in the sticky two days ago in the main Elemental forum, the Beta is over and can no longer be installed. Keys will be reactivated when we make the final game available.
